Here are 10 easy tips I recommend you to follow for the best user experience and for high success rate of your blog:

1. Use a template with the sidebar on the right and blog content on the left as shown in the following diagram:
The red regions get the most attention followed by Orange, yellow and green respectively according to heat diagrams for the web. Actually the user's attention first goes towards the top left corner but nowadays, it has shifted a bit more towards the centre top part of the site/blog.

2. Try to keep your advertisements in the sidebar of your blog or at the end of the post and not in your content.

3. Focus mainly on text link ads as they are less intrusive followed by affiliate links, then adsense and then image ads.

Sonic boom is an impulsive noise similar to thunder. It is caused by an object moving faster than sound, about 750 miles per hour at sea level. An aircraft traveling through the atmosphere continuously produces air-pressure waves similar to the water waves caused by a ship's bow. When the aircraft exceeds the speed of sound, these pressure waves combine and form shock waves which travel forward from the generation or "release" point.
As an aircraft flies at supersonic speeds it is continually generating shock waves, dropping sonic boom along its flight path, similar to someone dropping objects from a moving vehicle. From the perspective of the aircraft, the boom appears to be swept backwards as it travels awayfrom the aircraft. If the plane makes a sharp turn or pulls up, the boom will hit the ground in front of the aircraft.

The sound heard on the ground as a "sonic boom" is the sudden onset and release of pressure after the buildup by the shock wave or "peak overpressure." The change in pressure caused by sonic boom is only a few pounds per square foot, about the same pressure change we experience on an elevator as it descends two or three floors, in a much shorter time period. It is the magnitude of this peak overpressure that describes a sonic boom.

If you've ever read any books on African hunting and safaris in general, then you've probably run across the name of Peter Hathaway Capstick. Mr. Capstick has left this world now, and we do miss him and the stories he told in his many books about big game hunting and living life on the African continent in the pursuit of game. However, as avid airgunners, we can enjoy one of his gifts to the shooting world.....specifically the airgunning world.....minisniping!

Now, just what is minisniping? Basically, it is a game he invented to play against his friends, fellow hunting guides, and guests as they relaxed after a day of hunting, or whenever they had some down time to kill....or in this case, to shoot.

It was in October of 1984 when Peter H. Capstick, as "Guns & Ammo's" African correspondent, published an article detailing the game of minisniping. It is a deceptively simple game....all you need are spent 9mm brass casings, and a pellet gun....that's it! But the trick is to hit the 9mm casings at 35 yards! That's where the challenge is! The guns that Capstick used were some of the most accurate guns of their day.....the FWB 300 series, the FWB Running Boar, and Anschutz LG match rifles were what he had on hand. Combined with the correct pellet, they were the cat's meow in the 1980's.

I’ve seen all kinds of blogs crop up into the blogging grounds. However, more than 90% of them are published in English. Good thing, because I cannot understand any other language. But, (yes there is a ‘but’) what people don’t seem to notice is that blogging in their regional language can mean absolutely no competition for them.

Recently, I came across a blog in Hindi – India’s nationwide and most spoken language. What I saw was about 45 comments for each post on that blog. The Alexa rank was quite high and the blog was only about 3 to 4 months old.

So, what was the reason for the high traffic of the blog in such a short span of time?

The answer is simple: Since there aren’t many blogs in that language, he was getting almost all the Hindi traffic in his niche. Google’s capability of offering searches in the major regional languages also meant that he enjoyed high ranking for searches in ‘Hindi’.

The Lesson for us:

If you want to blog about a topic that is not really meant for the global audience, blog about it in the regional language of the targeted audience. You could also give a try to making money through regional language blogs. Also, remember that Adwords and Adsense also offer ads in languages other than English.

However, since I’ve not tried all this myself (just watched others do it), I recommend you to give it a fair trial and share your observations with others on the Web (including me).

Here are the backlinks you need to keep away from:

1. Link farms

Link farms are websites that are made for link exchanges. They contain tons of links cluttered together pointing to various websites with no quality control. They may be used for making money by selling links or anything of such sort. The point is: Keep away from them. They are the best sources for penalizing your website.

2. Reciprocal links

As I've told earlier, reciprocal links are not given much importance by search engines. Hence, never practice reciprocal linking. Websites with too many reciprocal links enjoy a low search engine authority. Google, the biggest search engine disregards such links in most of the cases and doesn’t give them any authority.

3. Paid links

Paid links' importance is constantly decreasing.

Recently, it has been rumored that Google is on a mission to hunt for and de-authoritize paid links and there is some evidence to support that. One such evidence is that the Google Webmaster tools has a new addition to it for reporting paid links. Buying paid links is not the way to go for in the near future. Paid links and links in clusters are often recognized by search engines and seen as illegitimate and are not given much importance. Soon they may be given no importance at all.

4. Backlinks from multiple sites with same anchor text

A large number of websites linking to you with the same anchor text may have an adverse effect on your search engine rankings. For example, my blog has most of its backlinks containing the anchor text, “I Blog – You Blog”; but if some of those backlinks had anchor text containing some different keywords, my blog’s ranking would have been much higher. So, it should be your constant effort to get as many backlinks as possible with varying anchor text. Note: There isn’t any such effect on your rankings if your website has a lesser number of backlinks.

5. Penalized sites

As is evident, you should keep away from backlinks from websites that have been penalized by one or more search engines. Backlinks from such sites put your rankings into trouble. What’s more, with Google getting more and more aggressive, such sites have disappeared from even the supplemental index of the search results, leave alone the main index.

6. Low authority backlinks
Though low authority backlinks are not bad, you should still avoid links from websites with very low authority that you do not trust. However, I do not recommend keeping away from linking to them since websites only become big when people link to them.

Training:

Training requirements for a helicopter PPL are the same as for an aeroplane PPL, excepting for the hours required. A minimum of 50 hours is required and obviously the syllabus is also different. It is not necessary to have any previous experience on aeroplanes before doing a helicopter PPL. In fact, if a person has an aeroplane PPL or CPL, he is still required to complete the full 50 hours of helicopter training.

Training in the SA Air Force is different. A prospective helicopter pilot must undergo the complete wings training course on fixed-wing aircraft before converting onto helicopters.

Prospects

There is generally a shortage of helicopter pilots, or at least not an oversupply. There are two reasons for this. The first one is the high cost of training. The second reason is that insurance companies require the pilots to have a lot of helicopter experience, usually at least 1500 helicopter hours. Depending on the type of helicopter to be flown, this requirement could also be coupled to multi-crew experience and turbine time. Mini sites have been around for quite some time. A mini site is a very small website meant for a very specific purpose. But the question is: Are they Good or Bad for the people and the webmaster?

The good:

I just discovered that many blogs had been linking to me and I never knew about it. I always comment and thank the people who link to my blog but this time I just couldn't do it. Here I’ll share some ways of tracking and rewarding the people linking to your blog.
How to know if someone is linking to you:

Here are some ways to track your backlinkers.

1. Most of the time, you’ll get a ‘trackback’ in your blog’s comments informing you about a linkback to your blog. But trackbacks are not very efficient. Sometime you never get a trackback. Moreover, in blogger based blogs (like my blog), there’s no provision for such a thing.

2. Use Technorati to track the blogs linking to you. Technorati is very efficient in tracking the blogs linking to your blog. I use it most of the time to track my backlinks. The ‘authority’ of your blog is the number of blogs linking to you and ‘blog reactions’ is the number of backlinks they’ve given you.

3. Use Google, MSN or Yahoo for tracking your backlinks. They may take some time to show your backlinks but they do show them. But sometimes Google forgets to show your backlinks (especially when you’re in the Google sandbox). Hence, Yahoo and MSN are better in such a case.

Type the following text in the search box (in Google, Yahoo or MSN) to look for your backlinks:

link:www.yourdomain.com

4. You should also keep monitoring regularly where your traffic is coming from using your tracking software. If there’s even a bit of traffic coming from any website or blog you do not know about, visit it immediately and check it for any backlinks to your blog.

Dramatically decrease in Alexa rank

Recently, me and some of my blogging friends did a small experiment to manipulate our Alexa rankings based on an idea I had. The result was very satisfying. Our Alexa rank reduced to about 1/4 of the original rank in two weeks which is a BIG BIG achievement.

Here's the theory:

Alexa ranks all sites based on the number of visits from people using the Alexa toolbar. But that's not what we'll be taking advantage of. There's another concept: Alexa appoints a special url for each website which redirects to that website itself. That is, whenever someone visits the url, he/she is redirected to the particular site for which it is meant. The good thing is that whenever someone is redirected through that url, a visit to the site is counted by Alexa. It is equivalent to an alexa toolbar user visiting that site.

So, what we need to do is redirect the maximum possible number of people through that url to your website. This is supposed to increase your Alexa rank dramatically.

What I did:

If you observe where the "Home" button in my website points, you'll see it links to:

http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?http://iblog-youblog.blogspot.com

If you visit this url right now, you'll be redirected to my blog's home page through Alexa.

That's the redirect url for my website. So, whenever someone clicks on the "Home" button, the visitor will be redirected through this url to my website's home page. The visitors don't even realise they've been redirected and then taken to the home page.

What do you need to do:

Replace http://iblog-youblog.blogspot.com in the following url with your own blog address:

http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?http://iblog-youblog.blogspot.com

Then copy the address that you get. After that, make your blog's home button point to that address.

That's it! Now just watch your Alexa rank shoot up magically. You should be able to see the difference in about a week.
